This web site is the culmination of my research into my paternal line
and includes the family of my great-great grandfather Thomas Arthur
Bailey and the search to find the origins of his parents. My first
obstacle was locating death records for Edward Bailey and Sarah Williams.
Hampered by the lack of information required on early death certificates
in Tasmania confirming parents or family relationships can be difficult
thus hindering the task of establishing ones origins.
In recent times I have been able to add another chapter into the life
of my Tasmanian ancestors with the discovery of the origins of my great-great-great
grandmother Sarah Williams. The journey has lead to the discovery of
ancestral ties to the First Fleet, the settlement on Norfolk Island
and to a new beginning in Van Diemens Land.
It has been a pleasure to be given a glimpse into the lives of my forbears
through their successes and hardships to make Tasmania their home for
nearly two hundred years.
